Welcome to my website! I am a Cultural Anthropologist currently doing an interdisciplinary PhD at the Amsterdam University Medical Center (VUmc). I am part of the ‘Youth at Risk’ division of the Pediatrics department, where I work for the Academic Workplace Youth at Risk (Academische Werkplaats Risicojeugd). I am also a lecturer and tutor for a number of first year bachelor’s courses within the Cultural Anthropology and Development Sociology programme at Leiden University.

My research over the last few years has focused on adolescents and young adults (ranging from 16 to approx. 27 years old) from Amsterdam Nieuw-West. The main themes in my research so far have been: integrated youth care, youth crime prevention and desistance, trust, and embodiment.
